Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries is the fourth industrial city managed by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. Under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may Allah protect him – Royal Decree No. (49901) dated 9/10/1436H was issued, assigning the Royal Commission to manage and operate Jazan Economic City. This was followed by Royal Decree No. (59160), which changed the city’s name to Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries as part of the broader strategy to drive development across the Kingdom, and specifically in the Jazan Region, positioning the city as the beating heart of Jazan’s industrial growth.

Located in the northern part of the Jazan Region, approximately 70 kilometers from Jazan City, the city spans an area of 266 km² and enjoys a prime position on the Red Sea coast, strategically situated between several resource-rich regions of the Kingdom. It features the first port directly operated by the Royal Commission within its economic cities, providing an integrated advantage to the industrial sector and placing Jazan on the global map as a significant maritime logistics platform connecting multiple continents.

Jazan City has been planned to provide comprehensive investment and residential capabilities, adhering to international standards so that the industrial, residential, and environmental zones coexist harmoniously—where the environmental zone serves as the city’s “green lung.” This planning supports the city’s long-term strategic objectives:

  • Economic and Investment Prosperity: Leveraging the city’s position as one of the Middle East’s most important commercial hubs.

  • Integrated Development: Delivered through high-quality infrastructure.

  • Sustainable Environment: Preserving the site’s natural and environmental assets.

  • Transportation Efficiency: Ensuring effective connectivity and communication networks within the city.
