Ras Al Khair City for Mining Industries

Ras Al Khair City for Mining Industries is the third industrial city managed by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, following the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. (355) dated 30/10/1430H, which assigned the Royal Commission to manage the city and provide services for mining and other industries, following the development model of Jubail and Yanbu Industrial Cities.
Spanning 287.2 km², the city is located about 60 kilometers north of Jubail Industrial City on the Arabian Gulf coast. It is home to several major mining-related industries, including phosphate and aluminum plants, along with essential production facilities and advanced core infrastructure.
From the moment it was entrusted with the city’s management, the Royal Commission prepared a comprehensive master plan to define the path of industrial and economic growth. The focus is on building advanced infrastructure and logistics capabilities to support all stages of the mining value chain—from extraction to processing—maximizing value-added output, and aligning with the Kingdom’s vision of making mining a cornerstone of economic diversification. This includes the transfer and localization of advanced technologies and specialized professions linked to the mining sector. With its strategically planned and world-class facilities, the Kingdom has firmly positioned itself on the global map of mining and associated maritime industries.
The Royal Commission has developed fully serviced, investment-ready industrial lands, providing essential facilities and infrastructure for industrial expansion. These include:
Power generation plants
Gas and electricity distribution networks
Stormwater drainage systems
Pipeline corridors
Potable water and seawater cooling networks for industrial use
Wastewater treatment plants and networks for domestic and industrial purposes
Road networks, bridges, and railway corridors
Telecommunications and internet infrastructure
Feedstock gas supply systems
In its planning, the Royal Commission has prioritized environmental preservation and the promotion of green living, ensuring that Ras Al Khair will offer a fully integrated and sustainable urban environment for residents in the near future.
The city is strategically positioned to attract diverse investments in mining and maritime industries, and is prepared to welcome both national talent and international expertise—particularly after the announcement of the Special Economic Zone for Ras Al Khair City for Mining Industries.
Already, the city has witnessed a surge in private sector investment and the arrival of highly skilled professionals across multiple disciplines. It is now poised to receive more specialized workforce talent, completing the ecosystem of this coastal industrial hub and bringing it to life with its growing community.
