Yanbu Industrial City

The second industrial city managed by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Yanbu Industrial City is located 350 kilometers northwest of Jeddah and 200 kilometers west of Madinah. Spanning an area of 606 km², it is home to the largest oil export port on the Red Sea coast and the largest facility for handling petroleum and chemical liquids.

The city’s proximity to the Suez Canal and North African countries makes it a gateway to European markets, in addition to its central location between the Americas and the Far East.

Yanbu Industrial City is the western terminus of the Kingdom’s crude oil and liquefied natural gas pipelines, which stretch approximately 1,200 kilometers from oil fields and gas processing plants in the Eastern Province to the western coast. Most of the crude oil is exported to global markets, while the remainder—along with natural gas—is used as fuel and feedstock in the city’s refineries and other industries.

Thanks to this robust economic base, Yanbu Industrial City serves as a vital link for investors across industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Its rapid growth is easily explained by the abundance of rewarding professional opportunities, high-quality residential areas enhanced by landscaping and natural beauty, and the availability of recreational facilities—all of which combine to provide an exceptional standard of living for residents. Alongside its abundant investment opportunities, the city’s business climate makes it attractive to both domestic and international investors.

The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu has worked to enhance environmental safety and improve quality of life in the city by providing service facilities that meet residents’ needs in healthcare, education, entertainment, and other areas. Residential neighborhoods are designed with a modern architectural style that enhances quality of life while ensuring the efficiency and integration of all services and operations.

Recognizing that people are the cornerstone of development, the Royal Commission places great emphasis on improving residents’ quality of life. It conducts annual surveys to measure satisfaction levels, aiming to further enhance them and ensure the provision of all services and facilities in line with the highest international standards.

Education in Saudi cities—and particularly in Yanbu Industrial City—is a point of pride. The Royal Commission has worked to develop educational outcomes, provide qualified national cadres, and raise the sector’s overall standard. In 2022, Yanbu Industrial City was awarded accreditation by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Learning City, a distinction that marks the second such achievement for the Royal Commission, following Jubail Industrial City’s inclusion in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities in 2020.
