Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone
Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone
Launch
On Thursday, Ramadan 22, 1444 AH, April 13, 2023 AD, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister of the council, launched four special economic zones in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a strategic step to strengthen the Saudi economy and provide a globally competitive investment environment to attract qualitative investments.
The cities of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu have two of these zones: the special economic zone of Jazan, located in the southwest of the Kingdom, and the special economic zone of Ras Al-Khair, located in the east of the Kingdom.
Location and space
The Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone is located in Ras Al-Khair City for Mining Industries, with a total area of 20 km² , at a distance of 60 km from Jubail Industrial City, and near oil, gas and mining production sites in the Kingdom.
Target sectors
The Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone targets four sectors: marine industries, offshore rigs, floating platforms and offshore services.
Competitive advantage
These sectors were chosen in line with the competitive and strategic advantage of the Ras Al-Khair region for mining industries due to its geographical location on the Arabian Gulf, its proximity to Jubail Industrial City, and the industrial and economic integration it constitutes between the two cities.
Expected effects
The Special Economic Zone of Ras Al-Khair will contribute, God willing, to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in raising its global investment competitiveness and enabling its attraction to foreign investments through a package of competitive incentives and capabilities, and what it offers by providing advanced and sustainable marine services that shape the future of the maritime industry.
The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu is distinguished by its experience that is almost to complete fifty (50) years in the management and operation of industrial cities, which enabled it to develop an operational model based on international best practices to be specialized in the management and operation of the Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone, and to emphasize global leadership by providing advanced products and innovative solutions for the ship
Our mission at the Royal Commission is to make Ras Al Khair Special Economic Zone a competitive and integrated economic growth center for the maritime industries, localize the field of value chains in the maritime industries, lead business services for investors, and a high-quality lifestyle. This lies in the integration of existing projects under city planning, which will be industrially and economically integrated with the Special Economic Zone.
